Full grooms for Cedar Vale dogs, just around the corner.

A full groom is our complete visit. It begins at the table with a slow coat check: we feel the coat to the skin, look for knots and talk through the finish you have in mind and how much brushing suits your week.

Then a warm bath with a mild shampoo, a careful blow-dry and a thorough brush-out, before the trim we agreed. Face, feet and hygiene areas are tidied, and nails and ears are done if you’d like.

If the finish you’d love won’t suit their coat, we’ll say so and suggest something that will. A groom you can keep up with at home is always the better choice.

Coats we often see for this groom.

  • Curly coats

    Poodles, doodles, bichons

A bath, a full blow-dry to straighten the curl and a scissor or clipper finish to the length you’d like.

  • Double coats

    Huskies, retrievers, shepherds

A deep wash and a thorough de-shed with a high-velocity dryer. We never shave a double coat unless your vet advises it.

  • Wiry coats

    Schnauzers, terriers, wire-haired dachshunds

A bath and a tidy, with the shape kept neat around the face, beard and legs.

  • Smooth coats

    Beagles, Labradors, boxers

A good bath, a rubber-brush de-shed, nails and ears. Quick, clean and fresh.

When a coat is matted.

Tight mats close to the skin can be painful to brush out. If we find them, we stop and call you, explain what we see and agree the kindest way forward. Sometimes a short, even clip is gentler, and the coat grows back healthier.

Little and often at home, and a groom every few weeks, keeps most coats free of mats. We’re always happy to show you which brush suits their coat.

Bring along
