Pawvelure is a small grooming studio on Laurel Court in Cedar Vale. It’s light, quiet and unhurried, with plants on the sills and one pet at the table at a time.

We believe a beautiful groom starts long before the scissors. It starts with getting to know the coat: how it feels, how it grows, and what will keep it comfortable between visits.

So every groom begins with a conversation. We feel the coat, ask how they handle and agree a finish that suits their coat and your week. If something isn’t right for your pet, we’ll say so kindly and honestly.

We groom dogs of every coat, and cats too, at a calm time of day. Northbridge, Willow Ridge and Westmere are a short drive away.

How we groom

Four things every groom includes.

  1. One pet at the table

Your pet has our full attention, from coat check to final brush.

  2. The coat comes first

We feel the coat before suggesting a finish, and explain why.

  3. Mild products

Gentle shampoos, or yours if they have sensitivities.

  4. Pauses when needed

Their pace, always. We stop if it becomes too much.

Things we never do.

A few promises that keep every groom calm, kind and honest.

  • Rush a pet who needs a pause
  • Shave a double coat without your vet’s advice
  • Bath a cat that doesn’t need it
  • Use a product you’ve asked us to avoid
  • Sedate a pet or offer veterinary care
  • Hand your pet to anyone you haven’t named
